Does Social media help or harm youth?
Social Media is a place where people can communicate with each other, especially if they are far apart. It is also a place where people can discover new interests and get others to join in on the action. Social Media is all about interacting and having fun. However, that does not always mean social media is beneficial for you.
Unfortunately, social media can wrap people around its finger, causing them to lose connection to the real world and be more focused on the way you appear from the outside. If you go to a local family restaurant, there’s a chance you might find a table with teenagers, children, and even parents, all on their phones, instead of having a conversation.
Staying away from Social Media is beneficial for a more healthy lifestyle, but staying away from it completely is not very necessary. Limiting phone and computer usage is really all it takes to grasp the real world experience back. Some tips to help with that include deleting social media apps, such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter from your phone. Keep iMessage and other messaging apps like that so you can still communicate with your friends and family from home.
